Dell Precision M60 Pentium M 745 CPU not up-gradable to Windows 10.

Here's the link to the Penitum M745 CPU Ark Page Intel M Processor 745 (2M Cache, 1.80 GHz, 400 MHz FSB) Specifications
Basically despite having a clear description of the fact that it has NX enabled along with the MMX and SSE and SSE2 although in CPU-Z it doesn't say about NX, it doesn't seem to allow me to upgrade to Windows 10.
There doesn't seem to be an enable NX option in the Dell revision A09 BIOS, although there is a patch, I don't think this is going to work necessairily, It's currently on Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit version as it's not a 64bit CPU.
Is there any chance there's a work around or indeed a possible cpu that waybe compatilbe with the Dell Precision M60 e.g. Pentium M760 etc that may have NX etc in order to upgrade it to Windows 10.
Please Let me know as soon as possible if there's several remedies to rectify the problem.

I would be posting this on the Dell forum, where there are those knowledgeable about Dell hardware.

However, this is the statement on the Dell support site:
Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade
Dell is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for this product. If you choose to upgrade, some features, applications, and connected devices may not work as expected.
I will say that Dell uses proprietary motherboards and in some cases does not follow the full Intel spec. For example, I had a Dimension E510 (Identical to a Dimension 5150) that uses an Intel DXXX CPU. According to the Intel specs the chipset used in this model can accept up to a D960 CPU, but in actuality on the Dell implementation the D960 does not work. The most that can be installed is a D945.

thanks

"execute disable bit" is Intel's name for NX. It is listed as present for the M 745.

I see that Dell supports nothing newer than Windows XP on the Precision M60. That doesn't give me a lot of hope that you can upgrade to Win 10.

I wonder whether the CPU is socketed, or soldered to the motherboard. If it's soldered, as is common in a laptop, replacing it would be unusual.

If pc is so old, then running Windows 10 is not likely to be a happy experience anyway - driver support is likely to be biggest issue.

OK guys thanks for the responses.
Will have a look at the Dell website/forum on this issue.
p.s it's upgradeable as i upgraded it from the pentium m 735 to pentium m 745.
Apparently it's upgradeable to pentium m765? although when I tried it, it didn't seem to work.
It could be that the motherboard doesn't officially support it or it was a non working module.

Thanks for the correction, although I doubt that I'll ever make use of the information.

If you manage to install 10 on it, let us know. I'd be impressed: the M60 was introduced in 2003, has AGP graphics, and an IDE hard drive.

I will indeed.
