Intel Mobo P.O.S.T Code 10, 4 Beeps, Won't Boot?

Hopefully this is the right section on the forum, I

Went
tojump on my PC this morning and got no response, tried to reboot and nothing. Rebooted it again and got post code 10 (via mobo display) and 4 beeps.

Specs

  • Intel DZ77GA-70 extreme motherboard
  • I7-3770K
  • ASUS AMD 380X
  • 12 GB RAM
  • Windows 10
  • Corsair CM550
  • Sandisk SSD for main drive

I searched it up and generic 4 beep post code means "system timer fault" which is non repairable and requires a new MOBO is this correct?

I can't find any info on code 10, for thisMOBO.

Tried one stick of RAM in all slots and same result, tried pulling CMOS battery, using back to bios button.

Reseated CPU.

Did a cold hard boot.

All parts are about 7 months old except for the CPU and RAM, which came from my previous pre-built HP tower.

I built it because the MOBO in the HP system died which I first bought in 2012.

Thanks for any help.

I don't see 4 beeps in that manual, 4 beeps is listed in the first reference in the legacy board table. Intel states that the board is no longer supported, so that probably makes it legacy.

The code 10 seems to indicate Resuming from S2

Are there any LED codes?

When you reseated your CPU, did you apply new thermal paste?
You said you tested on RAM in all slots, did you test all RAM in each slot ... or at least one other stick in each slot?

Was there a power outage overnight? The components aren't that old.

Actually got it booted 5 mins ago, ran out of ideas so as a last try.

I Unplugged all connections to the mobo and reconnected, plugged the power cord back into the PSU and still kept on showing code 10 (on the display and 4 beeps) rebooted it a few times and and now its magically running.

So I don't know what was the original problem was.

If I run into more problems, ill post up

Thanks.

That would have been the next step - tear it down and add only the necessary components.

But you did that

Best of luck with it, post new information if needed.
