Is it possible to change the automated startup background pictures?

When Windows 10 starts up - and before we log on - it displays a variety of different fantastic views / sceneries. Only problem is, I don't know where the views are from and besides, I've seen enough interesting places in the world to make my own "series" of phenomenal views - if that's the way I want to start my day.

Is there a way to modify what pictures Windows throws at you at start-up?

Hi ESTRADA! And welcome to windowssh blog!

Go to Settings / Personalization and then click on Lock screen in left side list.

You can choose between Windows Spotlight (that are series of Microsoft pictures you've mentioned), picture and Slideshow.

Thank you so much for your welcome and for the solution!

For now, I've settled myself with a scenic picture taken at lake Jindabyne, but I will try and make my own slideshow one day.

I think I also discovered; when opening a picture in the default picture program that comes with Windows I just had to right-click and assign the picture to the Lock Screen. Works only with single pictures.

Great it worked for you!

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but good luck with the Slideshow option. I have not been able to get it to work for months. Hopefully MS will have this fixed when you get ready.

I've tried it (never used it before) and it works. Well, settings are very basic and you don't have any control over type of transitions..., but you can select folders (add them and remove them) of pictures.

Switched back to show picture I choose

Update: If Indexing is turned off the Slideshow option will not work. So in Services I set Windows Search to Automatic delayed. Restarted my computer. Went to Lock Screen in Settings and under Slideshow removed all currently shown folders and then added them back. Windows key + L and now the Slideshow on the Lock Screen works.
