New System Upgrade! :)

Hello all,

I would to start a poll on what CPU + GPU combo are you using right now. In the winter of this year 2016 I am going to be getting an upgrade to my current system.

I will get the parts list in tonight. It will mostly be a full system upgrade.

Now, I do have a question about Windows 10 on my system right now. When I switch the motherboard, can I activate Windows 10 and still have it be genuine? Or do I have to purchase a $200 key? Which I am NOT doing.

I just replaced my motherboard and CPU in my current system and then clean installed Windows 10 on an SSD that I'd previously had it on and it was automatically activated.

Currently using an i5-6600K with an EVGA GTX 980Ti SC+.

I have a A8-6600K..

How's that working out for ya? Six core right?

It's a quad and I really like it, I can get the things I need to get done..well done and the graphics are nice.

That's awesome!

Okay, PARTS LIST TIME!

Here is my list so far:
AMD FX-8320E Black Edition
ASUS 970 Pro Gaming Motherboard
EVGA GTX 960 2GB SSC Gaming
EVGA SuperNOVA GQ 650w PSU

So tell me what you all think of this and is it worth the money for it? I totally up under $600.

Now, I did find this AMD FX-8320 Black Edition CPU + ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 Bundle --> Should I get this instead?

Thanks guys!
M

Since you are doing your upgrade later this year, I would wait and see what the new AMD ZEN CPU and chipsets look like when they come out later this year. Newer boards should have PCIe 3.0, DDR 4, USB 3.1 and m2 or u2 ports.

I had a M5A99X EVO that died on me after 4 years running a Phenom II X6 1100.

I went cheap ($254) and got an ASUS A88X-Pro and a A10-7870K APU that has 4 CPU cores and 8GPU R7 cores.
I don't do heavy gaming and this little system runs great. I like it so much I rebuilt the wife's old system with the same MB and CPU.

Now I am good for a while and see what AMD ZEN brings out.

Good luck with the upgrade. @Phone Man gave some good advice I think.

I am running an i7-5930K and an EVGA GTX 980 Classified right now.
