How to remove the folders under "This PC" but keep them elsewhere?

I couldn't fit it all in the title. Basically what I'm trying to ask for is if there is a way to remove the folders from "This PC" so I'm just displaying my hard drives like before. I'd like to keep the folders under quick access, and I would like to keep the folders in general, but they simply do not belong right by the drives under "This PC". I like change, but this one, I do not like at all.

Already tried this, unfortunately it does nothing.

In which case I'd post in the tutorial thread, I daresay @Brink will l get to the bottom of your issue.

It still works for me to remove the folders from This PC. Could you please give more details?

Unfortunately that's all the details I have. I run the .reg to remove all folders (the first choice) and then reboot my PC. They all still appear to be there, so even though I rebooted I try it again but this time just restart the explorer process. That doesn't seem to do it either. I haven't tried manually editing the registry though, but I don't know what ones to change, if that would be needed.

In that case, post some screenshots showing what your seeing to see if anything may stand out.

Did the .reg file successfully completely merge after giving approval from the prompts?

I just tried the method given in post#2 to remove all folders and it worked A-OK. I'm running Build 10240.

Interestingly enough, the third time I did it worked. I did it strangely though. Had to kill the explorer process, only to realize that broke the entire desktop (woops), so I had to ctrl-alt-delete and do a restart. Came back on and the folders are removed. Heh.

Great news.
