Same problem

Three days after what appeared to be a smooth upgrade from Windows 8.1, I experienced a problem with complete loss of Start screen, Start button and Search was also none active. The only solution appeared to be to create another user account which seemed to bring things back to normal. Today, one day after 'normalisation' I attempted to create an additional mail account and discovered the Mail app has frozen completely. All other apps appear to work normally.

I have tried the standard 're-boot' option but that has no effect. It appears that the uninstall/reinstall option is not available for Mail. Any ideas?

I have also just upgraded to Windows 10, and my computer has now decided not to let me access my mail. This is a recent occurrence as I have previously been able to do so within Windows 10.
Any answers please?

I have also noticed that this problem also affects the Windows Calendar. Can anyone also confirm that this is the case? I understand that W10 mail and Calendar have recently received an upgrade. I wonder whether that is the cause of the problem or is to be the cure?

I think this problem occurred for me following an update!!!!!!

Mail, Calendar & People are the same app, just a different front end, so if you have issues with one you could have issues with these three

seems a few people have various issues with mail, there is a patch coming out next week, so hopefully they will get resolved

I have two accounts on my computer. The weird thing is, email and calendar works perfectly on one account but not the other. I can't figure out why that should be. No settings have been changed manually on either account. I guess I'll just have to wait for the patch.

I upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10 on 2 Aug 2015. I prefer to use my long-time Comcast account for email so it connected it with no problem. On the 5th or 6th of August the Win Mail screen appears to be locked. My cursor moves around it just fine but nothing will link and the highlighted email at the top of the incoming list does not show in the View side of the screen. New emails are being added to incoming. The only modifications I've made since upgrade were in the Personalization area, which shouldn't affect email screen. I haven't checked Calendar. I did not like 8.1 email at all and have patiently waited for this upgrade. This stuff shouldn't be rocket science anymore so stopping messing with the easy tasks.

I'll gladly accept help or suggestions if it's me who is doing something wrong.

I just checked and I can access People, but not Calendar!

I just did a restart and I can now access both my Mail and Calendar.

The same thing has happened to me. Windows 7. Sony Vaio laptop. Upgraded to Windows 10. Everything works fine until the last update, and then mail and calendar app wont start. The People app will start which is my contacts from my mail app. If I create a new profile it will work. Very odd
