Samsung Apologizes for Telling Users Not to Upgrade to Windows 10

Samsung: Don't install Windows 10. REALLY
Microsoft and Samsung celebrate Windows 10 year of driver FAIL

Samsung is advising customers against succumbing to Microsoft’s nagging and installing Windows 10.

The consumer electronics giant's support staff have admitted drivers for its PCs still don’t work with Microsoft's newest operating system and told customers they should simply not make the upgrade.

That’s nearly a year after Microsoft released Windows 10 and with a month to go until its successor – Windows 10 Anniversary Update – lands.

Samsung’s customers have complained repeatedly during the last 12 months of being either unable to install Microsoft’s operating system on their machines or Windows 10 not working properly with components if they do succeed.

However, with the one-year anniversary fast approaching it seems neither of these tech giants have succeeded in solving these persistent problems.

Sadly but true. Intel tablet drivers are still not totally 100% compatible. Lots of wifi driver issues by Qualcomm and others.

Driver issues happen with every new version of Windows. 10 is no different but I still prefer 10 over 8 or 7.

After a almost a year as a released product and the significant preview ahead of that, Samsung has dropped the ball for drivers. For anyone with one of their Smart TVs, this is no surprise -- their software writing abilities are the worst.

Bla bla bla... 90% of the drivers are still Windows 8.1 drivers, or even Windows 7 drivers and were just copy paste, msot work fine, some need adjustments though which didn't happen yet even after 1 year, so please don't tell nonsense like that. You always see this in bsods happen when it says win81 driver.

I have a Samsung netbook and it is running win 10 and doesn’t seem to have any problems.

They're just covering their ass because they take ages to check compatibility on any software they write or drivers their products use.

This way they just say 'well we told you not to...' when stuff doesn't work.

i have 8 Samsung monitors and TVs, love them all, some are over 10 yrs of age and work perfectly.

Hey, if they don't endorse Windows 10 that is their prerogative. I find it informative and respectful to their customers to let them know of any possible problems. They aren't saying Windows 10 is bad, just that it doesn't fit with their products. So to bad mouth them, for that, I feel is out of place.

Hmmm.. Samsung - world's largest android vendor - windows 10 apps - no conflict of interest there is there?

Shame on Samsung - they have had nearly two years to develop suitable drivers.

Samsung has issued a public statement to apologize for comments made by its support staff and telling customers not to upgrade to Windows 10 because of incompatible drivers.

A number of Samsung customers who did upgrade to Windows 10 came across bugs and issues with their devices and contacted the company for assistance. But in private emails sent by Samsung’s support engineers, users are being told that work on addressing compatibility problems was still under way, adding that “what we usually recommend is to keep the current Windows version.”
