Hi, i have an acer revo one. Been playing dota 2 on this device for some months now. Had some crashes while playing as the dota 2 would just stop responding and i could not close the program and only thing i could do was to restart or shut down the computer using the power options. Yesterday the PC turned on by itself i dont know how and when i tried to shut it down there was the option "Update and shut down". I did so. After a few minutes it when to the option which you get when you press f8 before the pc startup. The pc was saying the ram needed some kind of update. I ran the update and when to sleep without checking what was going on. When i woke up this morning, I tried to turn on the pc and it did but without anything else working. No signal to the screen and there was nothing else i could do. The mouse was getting the power as it turned on but nothing else seem to work. There is also a strange problem when i tried to unplug the power cable of the pc and put it back on it would turn on automatically and again with the same problem. I think this is a problem with the ram but i cant seem to understand which one as there are no beeep sound when turning it on.

thanking you in advance for the help and support
Best Regards

The way the ATX-style motherboards work is the On|Off switch only communicates to the motherboard. The motherboard always has power to it from the power supply and controls the power. Pressing the switch tells the motherboard to get things going. Basically in this situation it usually requires swapping out some parts such as the power supply with known good ones. It could be the RAM, could be the circuitry on the motherboard, some of the devices on the board, an add-in card, etc.

Dear berton thank you for your reply but im not really sure how to solve the problem.

It does sound like the first thing I'd do is test the power supply [there are devices for that] then even though it works properly I'd substitute a different working supply, see if the issues continue. If so I'd substitute the RAM [I always have some on hand but for testing could use smaller sizes]. If the issues still exist then I'd suspicion the motherboard itself. These types of things usually end up with the computer in a local repair shop if out-of-warranty.

Hello Yuri and welcome to windowssh blog. I am confused about the above statement in bold. Ram does not need an upgrade or an update. Could you be a little more specific about the message you received?

A couple of things to try. See if you have a Restore point to sometime prior to when you had those messages. This should show you how. System Restore Windows 10

Check and see if the physical power button on your case might be stuck.

Try to see if you can boot into safe mode. This will tell you how. Advanced Startup Options - Boot to in Windows 10. If you can get into safe mode, try to uninstall the Windows Update you think caused this problem. Windows Update - Uninstall in Windows 10

Try those options and see if you get any improvement.
