Toshiba List Supporting Windows 10.

I find it so odd that my particular model is not upgradeable to Windows 10, this system was manufactured back in January of 2012 literally about 10 months before Windows 8 was out, anybody else find this odd?

Why is it not upgradeable to Windows 10?

One factor for the question whether or not a system can be upgraded successfully, is the hardware in it.

A quick Google search shows people having problems with the Touchpad and I found someone who had issues with the WLAN. At least for the WLAN (an Atheros module in his case), I can pretty surely say that the current drivers are nicely working with Windows 10. In fact I am currently using one.
So often when people write they have problems, this does not necessarily mean that you will encounter the same issues.

Why do you think it won't work?

Get yourself a system image and then go for it, if it don't work restore, will take a hr tops.

I have C655D-S5300 and I guess that's why I haven't received my upgrade notice yet.

Mine upgraded alright but I am having problems changing from my local account to my Microsoft user account. Is this problem related?

GO to 'Windows 10 upgrade ISO" and Down Load the ISO (about 1.5 hours @10 Megs download speed)
Windows 8,1 will mount it for you
Clink on "Setup.exe"
DONE!!!! (In about an hour)

I upgraded to windows 10 using my Toshiba satellite c655d-s5133 AMD single core processor. It is working perfectly except for video play back issues. Many people are experiencing with you tube.

Poor video performance often means that the PC (laptop) is only using the Microsoft Basic graphics drivers. Installing the right ones for your graphics chip will give a much better result.

The challenge is discovering what your graphics processor is. If you know your laptop's exact model number, Google (Bing, etc.) may be your friend. For example: a satellite c655d-s5133 has Radeon Mobility HD 6310 graphics. The drivers AMD recommends for it are:

Mobile

(32 bit) or

Mobile

(64 bit).

has the list of toshiba machines which support windows 10. Alas my Satellite C55Dt-A5106 PSCFWU did not make the list. I tried installing windows 10. Initially, only a minor video driver issue, after installing Windows 10. So, after upgrading the video driver, right click ceased to work, so back to 8.1.

The laptop was purchased cheaply for $380 in early 2014. It looks like it was manufactured in 2012.
