Installing Windows to Boot From A USB

Hi Guys, I want to reinstall Windows to get rid of any nasty stuff that might be lurking in the registry as I've recently picked up a long list of malware. If I use the Windows download tool to create a reinstall file, will it create a pure, original Windows file, or will it copy everything, hidden registry rubbish as well. So if I reload the OS from that USB, will the new install be corrupted? Hope that made sense. Thanks.

When running the install from the created usb tell it to format the hard drive and all be gone .apps and personal data , so make sure to backup your personal file ,like documents and pictures and music ect ect

Thanks Caperkack. that's excellent. Using it now, I can see it's downloading a completely fresh W10 installation file. For some reason I thought it would create the file from my existing registry.

If you do a clean install, and delete all partitions, all your malware should be gone. Backup any files you don't want to lose to external media first though. Windows 10 - Clean Install

None of my partitions are on C drive. They're on other drives. Just the OS is on C. A reinstall too may even find my DVD drives again. For some reason they're not showing in Windows explorer anywhere. They've just vanished.

I keep my Data on a separate drive or partition. My userfolders, Documents, Pictures etc. On a clean install I do the custom option and delete all partitions except my Data drive. Then I just install to the unallocated space. I don't even bother creating a partition, Windows will create the ones it needs and format them automatically. Once you log in for the first time, give it a little while to run Windows update and update drivers. You'll see it happen. Or run Windows update manually a couple of times. Once it says all up to date, then look for hardware that isn't working. Just check device manager for a yellow ! or a red X.

Cheers, thanks for that. I'll then turn off all the "spying" stuff that lives deep within windows.
