Since I updated to 1607 today, I've got this annoying file called this. It just will not delete, period. I know people will say this is a system file etc. But it doesn't make sense. Under details, it says it's '5KPlayer.dat' and I deleted that program a while ago.
Same as I am having problems deleting the entire Windows.old folder. Microsoft seriously **** me off at times. Nothing is ever made simple. I didn't even want the ****ing update to begin with. It hasn't done anything! Any suggestions?
You must have hidden files enabled. Do you really need them enabled? I would be wary of deleting them.
I guess it's the 'ocd' in me lol. It's just that it wasn't there prior to the upgrade. And I don't get why it has 5kplayer linked to it? Seems a bit bogus as well.
Hi,Don't touch it. It's likely a registry database. As for Windows.old, use windows own Disk Clean utility and opt for system files. Deleting it manually is a true PITA.
Or leave it for 30 days and it will vanish all by itself.

I'm currently doing a deep clean via CCleaner. It's so far got rid of most of the Windows.old folder. Does it actually delete after 30 days? And any idea why the NTUSER file has 5kplayer on it?

Most of the time Ccleaner can remove everything in that folder that is no longer "active".
No idea but I really doubt that game would use a file name that's the exact same name as the user registry database.
Can you tell me in what folder it's located ?

It's in my username folder, along with Documents etc.
Run that from an elevated prompt and it will no longer be visible.Code:attrib +S +H path-to-file
If you run regedit.exe. HKEY_CURRENT_USERis the content of NTUSER.dat. If you delete it, you'll break Windows.
FYI. Windows Registry database is actually a bunch of files: DEFAULT, SECURITY, SOFTWARE, SYSTEMand stored under: C:WindowsSystem32config
NTUSER.datis created separately for each user and is under: C:Users[user]
[user]is your username

And that's where the registry databases are located so you'd better not touch it.
It's around 1.5 Mb is size after a clean install.
