Avira Free Anti virus

A friend at work asked me have I ever used Avire Free Anti virus (he husband put it on her laptop) I said no but I can look at it, so installed and up to now I quite like it. I do know some Iffy sites so a little test and I will see how Avire handles it

I've used it and I have to say it's really good.

I need to try it out again.

Jeff

Full system scan inc 2x 1 TB EXT HDDs took 1 hour and 7 mins, that's about 3.1/2 TB scanned

Avira signatures is superior than Windows Defender, but this antivirus lacks of zero day protection and need to redesign UI.

Thank you RubberDucky

I did go to (lets say known sites) and Avira did react and notified me >

I did a full scan with Malwarebytes after and found nothing, still testing

Are you testing in VM?

Hi Steph.
Have used Avira for some time, if set right uses little resources.
First time do a full scan, then set up as shown below, note:- time required on quick scan.
This on an MSI gaming laptop set up with two SSD, plus a 750gb HDD in Raid 0.

The Avira UI to me is a bit plain, its easy to use and does not take long to get used to >
