Remove Scan with Windows Defender

Today, the AU update installed on my computer and totally wiped out most of the customizing I had done. When I first installed Win 10, I used Brink's Remove Scan with Windows Defender UI .reg to remove the entry from the right click menu. It will still remove the entry but upon rebooting the computer, it reappears.. Any suggestions?
Ron

Regedit : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{09A47860-11B0-4DA5-AFA5-26D86198A780}

Delete that file , all the file and reboot ...never came back since i did like this ( sorry my bad english...easier in french to me

Hello Ron,

Did you use step 3 in OPTION ONE below?

Scan with Windows Defender Context Menu - Add in Windows 10

Brink, I used step 3 option 1. It worked great before the update. Could just be the AU as I have numerous problems that I did not have before. Think I will restore hard drive and do an iso of AU and see what happens. Far too buggy!

dlanod, I will try that and see what happens

Ok Brink, restored my hd to before the AU, downloaded and installed the AU. Before doing anything else, I ran Scan with Windows Defender Context Menu - Add in Windows 10 option 1 step 3 = Remove_Scan_with_Windows_Defender-UI.reg. It removed all Scan with Defender from the right click menus - desktop, folders, files etc. Rebooted the computer and they all returned as they were.

Until the next Windows Insiders I won't see "scan with defender blah blah blah " . I clean install every single Insiders preview since the first one , 2 years ( almost ) . I will erase the file yet again and won't see it

dlanod, your reg edit works. Now all I have to do is go in and reset everything the way I had it.

Thanks
Ron
