Just as the title states; how do i enable the login date/time that also shows how may interactive successful logons and now many unsuccessful logons to my account like I had under windows 7? There must be a way to do it in 10 as well so if someone can point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.
In Event Viewersearch for Event ID 4,648 (user logon) and 4,647 (user logoff).
No; thats not what i want. Not through event viewer. Im talking about when you log into windows it will show how many interactive logons were successful and how many were unsuccessful along with the date and time. I know there is a way to do it because I had it set that way under windows 7.
Or; is there a way to create a logon script to run when i logon to windows and if so how would i do that?
I'm not sure if this is what you want, if it is , try the Eightblog version ... theoretically it should work on Win10.
If it isn't what you want to do, look at the - there might be something you find that helps.
Sign-in Information - Display about Previous Sign-ins
Logon Information
well for some reason the steps in both of those links didnt work because i tried signing out then logging back in and it didnt display.
Did you use the reg file in method one, or group policy in method two? To keep this simply, let's focus on the Eightblog tutorial - Win8 is more closely related to Win10.
It would help to see the gp window like the one displayed in the tut.
I got it to work again bart!. I didnt realize you couldnt not get the info to display when sigining into a microsoft account which i really dont need right at this point; as it only works with a local account. So i went back and setup a local account and now it works.
Thanks Matt,
Very interesting.
I think it should work with either a MS account sign-in or a local account sign-in ... but who am I?
The current operation could be either by design or a bug - either way MS should hear from a user who had experience trying to get "last login attempts" working.
Have you fed MS the information or posted it on the Insider MS community forum?
Windows Insider Program - Microsoft Community
no; i have not posted it yet on the windows insider program as of yet. But i suppose i could.
