screen goes blank

Good Day
This is my first time posting in a forum but I have not been able to resolve my issue.
My windows has been recently upgraded to windows 10, and before it has a chance to get to the login screen it goes blank.
i have used the installation usb to access advanced options but unfortunately I do not see "Startup Options" although everything else is listed.
DiskPart shows my volume as E: i'm guessing because my system rese is showing as C: due to the fact that I am using a recpovery usb.
Please Help, my Drive depends on it.
And this is a brand new hard drive, so no it has not failed. It was perfectly fine before the upgrade.
Windows is not allowing me to return to the previous build neither, as i was thinking it had to do with a hardware compatibility issue.
I have an asus P5QC Motherboard with a Core 2 Duo Processor and 8gb Ram and ATI Radeon Graphics Card approx 4 Years old
Thanks

Hi
do you think windows 10 had a chance to activate before the problems ?.....did you do a live upgrade or USB/DVD for downloaded ISO....the boot USB should have an option under repair/troubleshooting to revert back to previous OS or could try repair....there is also an option to go back to a previous restore point, might be worth looking....

can an you also get the command prompt from the USB boot ?

you could try

bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /fixboot
bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd

one at a time

one at a time may sort out any boot MBR ( master boot record) issues.....
if W10 did activate you can do a clean W10 install and it will auto activate....do you have any data you need to recover ? if so use a Linux live cd, don't install, then copy anything off HDD to a pen or external HDD.

let me know how it goes.....good luck
