Yesterday I upgraded from Windows 8,1 to Windows 10. I wanted to clean install so I booted from my USB drive (which has the Windows 10 image and worked before on my other PC) and it didn't work.
Something was corrupt with my registry on the C: drive so I formatted it. Now I can't boot obviously and I get odd error messages like bad_config_info or something like that. I can't even clean install on the damn drive, it gets stuck after copying files.
Any help? I reallyneed my laptop ready over the weekend, because my current PC is garbage and also blue screens with Memory_Management. I'm not even bothering with that on a 6 yr old PC.

Have you tried deleting all the partitions on the hard drive and picking the resulting unallocated space to install to?
[QUOTE=NavyLCDR;387356]Have you tried deleting all the partitions on the hard drive and picking the resulting unallocated space to install to?[/QUOTEgeNo I haven't. I should try that, but my other partition has my data on it. I can't even boot to Windows, yet somehow I'm getting messages about it. I should try that, but are there any other solutions?
And how would I upload ~30 gb of data with a 250kb/s connection to OneDrive for example with an unreliable computer.
If you can create a Macrium Reflect Free rescue disk from a good computer, use that to boot your laptop from and image the data partition to an external USB stick or hard drive, that would work.
You can also try deleting all the partitions on the hard drive except for your data partition, and then install to the unallocated space.

Second time round it went smooth as clockwork and installed fine.
I'm gonna try that link.
The partition my OS was on is empty (formatted) and I'm pretty sure that's why I get 'press any key to boot from usb...'
Gonna try all of these, thanks. I'll report back.
As long as your BIOS is set to boot from USB first, you will get that message anytime a bootable USB is inserted, regardless of if you have an OS installed on your hard drive - and that is why it is there so it doesn't just boot into the USB if you accidentally left it in - also needed when doing an install from the USB so the computer can skip the USB when no key is pressed during the reboot process of the installation.
...Well... "When you see the error "0x80070570 can't access files" on install click --> Cancel -> you will be returned to the "Install Now" startup screen and - WITHOUT REBOOTING - just re-start the install.

Oddly enough it doesn't go back to the setup screen. Crap.
