How to find the secret Start Menu built into Windows 10

The title of the article is How to find the secret Start Menu built into Windows 8.1, but I just checked and it works great in Windows 10! When reading the article, follow the instructions in Windows 10 and there ya go!

I usually advise readers, but this time a reader gave me advice. Joe Rubenstein told me that "There is a Start Menu in Windows 8.1," then explained how to make it work.

Yes, it's true. You can add a Start menu--of sorts--to the Windows 8.1 taskbar without installing a third-party program. All of the code is built into Windows itself.

Hi there

OLD OLD stuff -- It's just based on using a CUSTOM TOOLBAR -- I already described this stuff AGES and AGES ago including adding Metro (Modern apps) to it.

The article is MISLEADING -- It's not a NEW START MENU -- although useful -- and custom toolbars have been around for a LONG TIME including W7.

Some of these Journalists don't deserve their money at all.

Here's my post from a LONG time ago.

Cheers

So, you two are double-teaming me, eh?

Well, I, for one, was glad to see the article. Secondly, there are users of Windows 10 who will be glad to see this recycled article. It won't hurt anything for it to be posted again, since I've not seen it in Windows 10 blog.

This has been around since at least Win 2000 that I know of and I have posted it on many blog over the years.
