I have an 8 gigabyte ram in my pc, but i often experience slow/lag when i use the computer. When this happens, i open up my task manager and check my ram. Here's a screenshot
As you can see, the total ram used up by my user is around 1 gig, while i have 8 gigs of ram installed. i would like to know why the percentage is around 80 percent.
I'm kind of a noob here so, im sorry if this is a stupid question.
By the way, here's my specs and
Thanks in advance!
Post a screenshot of Task Manager - Performance tab showing memory info.
You have a very high non-paged pool. This is usually indicative of a memory leak from a bad device driver. Can you describe what else is happening before you experience the slow-down in response?
If you can be more detailed about your specs we might be able to make more suggestions: System Specs - Fill in at windowssh blog
The lag only happens if I am running a high-memory program. Other than that, the computer actually runs almost like normal.
Well this could be the reason, non-paged pool is for data that must be in memory at all times for the program to run. If the high memory program really needs lots of data (such as photo editing huge image files) then this will slow down your PC. If the speed of your PC recovers as soon as you stop using the high memory program then I think everything is behaving normally.
But then the lag im talking about is experienced in the high-memory program. Games become laggy and load slowly and sometimes even the mouse movement is laggy when i browse with chrome. I dont think that's normal because all my friends who are using windows 10 are having less than 10 percent ram usage at idle while im sitting at 30-60 percent.
derricklimI assume you have checked for malware on your computer?
