Microsoft's new browser, Spartan, is not in today's Windows 10 release

At Mobile World Congress, a Microsoft executive said that in the next release of Windows 10 to Insiders, Spartan would be part of the build. But with today's release of 10041, Spartan is not part of the package. We got a chance to chat with Gabe Aul, ahead of today's announcement, about why Spartan is absent.

Firstly, as Aul has stated before, saying exactly when features will ship is hard to pinpoint and at this time, Spartan is not ready. He stated that Spartan is still being tested internally and that the team "has to complete a few more tasks before it is ready to ship".

Well no Spartan is better than a buggy Spartan.

Totally agree, but it is the one remaining feature I wish to test, having a number of historical websites with code to get round the various "quirks" for different browser issues over the years, and the compatibility of those sites with phones/tablets.

I plan on doing the exact same thing when it comes to Spartan.. when ever it shows up. And so far Build 10041 is doing rather well.. not perfect but good enough for now.

Reluctantly I would have to agree. There are enough other issues we're working through right now.

All of us are having different experiences with the new build(10041).. so far it's working just fine for me.. it has it's moments when it hesitates but other than that, and the audio card driver install delay, it's doing just great on my PC. This is a TP and there are bugs.

Now that MS has released build 10041 they need to fix any bugs that we find before they concentrate on releasing Spartan.

They can run a parallel track and do both. The Spartan team is totally different than the one working on Win10.

They may be separate teams but eventually they have to come together. It's easier to fix a few problems at a time then it is to combine them all together and try to fix a large number of problems.

True.. but it's called multitasking .. many companies and organization do that all the time. And trust me MS has done this before and it's not going to slow down the process of fixing bugs.
