Thanks for that.
Visual Studio Community 2015 does not see Update 1 through its "Extensions and Updates" menu command.
Attempting to download and run the update from the link you provided results in an error message: "Update 1 does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your computer".
Thanx Shawn
Andrey, Extension updates apply to NuGet packages etc. AFAIK.
You could try running the update exe with the /Layout switch.
To be fair, though, I have never tried community edition, so I may be completely off-base...
I'm not sure what "Extension updates" you are talking about. This topic is about Update 1 for Visual Studio 2015. It is basically an equivalent of "Service Pack" from Windows XP/7 times. It updates everything.
If you are referring to my attempt to use "Extension and Updates" menu, then Visual Studio updates should appear there under Updates -> Product Updates. At least that's how it has always been.

I'll try repair install of the full product.
Running full install of "Visual Studio Community 2015 with Update 1" over an existing install results in "Setup Failed! Install cannot continue because some required components failed. KB3022398. This action is only valid for products that are currently installed".
Amusingly enough, despite the apparent failure, the "Programs and Features" entry now says that I have "Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2015 with Update 1".
Will try uninstall followed by an install...
Uninstalled my current VS 2015. Downloaded ISO for VS Community 2015 with Update 1. It installed without any problems.
Don't get these VS updates... why so much unnecessary crap.... like Windows Phone SDK, different languages etc... at least ADK let's you choose what you want.. see this for eg: Am I ever gonna need this? I have already got 4.6.1 ENU...
the fact update installs some unnecessary (as you think, at least) crap is not a reason to not install development environment update
I am using Visual Studio Community 2015.
