Hiya....can I do this once I have upgraded to Windows? TIA
You could, but since it doesn't take very much room you might as well keep it.
There are some people that actually collect ISO files. Right now I have approx. 45 different versions of Linux and Windows ISO files stored as a nice little collection.
You could burn the iso to dvd so you have a backup.
Hi Sorry to butt into the thread regarding the isoI have a genuine disc of Microsoft office 2010,Would it be possible to make an iso of that for future keeping.Right now I have approx. 45 different versions
I do have quite a selections of movies in iso.

How to Create ISO Files From Discs on Windows, Mac, and Linux
I thought I read somewhere that the ISO file needs to be used within 24 hours of downloading?
Nothing as such AFAIK
No, they are good for years. I still use years old Windows and Linux ISOs just to create little computers on separate hard drives. Multibooting it is called. It is fun.
When using Windows Tech Bench to download the ISO after you make your selection the links are only active for 24 hrs and after that you need to go through the selection process again.

You can also download the Office ISO from MS servers using the Heidoc ISO Downloader.
If your Office disc is the older pre SP1 disc, you might want to download the newer ISO that includes SP1.
The ISO Downloader is available here:
