I took the plunge.. Win10 Preview as a primary..

I tried it out in VM and it worked so I just loaded it as my primary!
Here's a screen shot of it so far:

The limited testing has gone fine.
1. ClassicShell works fine but I turned it off.
2. I love the new Start ..

More to follow..

Nice

My inital plan was to extend my Win8 partition, and dual boot with Win10. However Win8 died after I extended the partition so here I am in 100% Win 10 lol.

Been smooth sailing so far, cept for a hiccup with GPU drivers. MS is probably saving giving us broken stuff to try out until we get up and running

I was sort of shocked that I didn't have any issues. But now that it's running I'm very pleased with Win10.
I need to do a lot more testing but it's rather nice so far.

Yeah friend told me that he's rarely had issues with previews in the past. I've heard they were fine since 7's...wonder how Vista's was

I would bet that he had hardware issues and driver compatibility issues. When I got a new PC it had "Vista" on it, I hated it. When Win7 beta came out I tested it for one day or less and made that my primary! I did the same with Win8 and Win8.1.

And now I did the same with Win10. I just took the plunge to test it fully and see how it works with all of the programs/apps that I use and so far so good.

As did I. I thought "what the heck!". My laptop have not been flushed since the installation of 8.1 last fall so I backed up some of the user sheit and went for it! The installation was really fast. I got abit scared when I left for the kitchen a couple of minutes and got back to a restarted installation. Then I remembered that the computer most likely had again booted from the USB while restarting =P Removed it before the next restart, and everything was fine.

The few minutes I had time to play with it before bedtime were very smooth. It has a clean new touch to it I think. More playtime with it this evening =)

Good to hear. I've found that Win10 works just fine and this being the initial version it's amazing in my book!
Way to go MS!!

I restored an image of W7 to my spare SSD and then ran the W10 upgrade. Everything went pretty smoothly and once the upgrade process was finished and W10 was up and running, it started downloading and installing all the remaining drivers. So far, I am very impressed with the performance. There isn't much difference speed wise with W8, but it does seem like the programs open a bit faster in W10.

I noticed that as well. I recall reading somewhere that Win10 would be faster than Win8.1.

That's exactly one of my first impressions! Everything I lancuh feels much quicker and crisper from the instant I push the butto until I can begin working in it
