Need Help in Windows 10 Installation

Hey guys, I finally decided to upgrade to Windows 10.

I don't know why I didn't have the option to update to Windows 10 normally, it's been two months & I have not got the
"Get Windows 10 Icon" even though I have installed all the updates on PC!

Anyways, I tried updating to windows 10 using Media creation tool sometime back, but since I am on slow internet I could not continue the whole process. Whenever I disconnected the internet, it stopped updating & I would have to do all the process again.

Now, I am trying upgrading to Windows 10 using the same creation tool, but this time I have chosen "Create installation Media for another PC"& to my surprise, I am able to resume or pause the update according to my convenience.

So, Here's my Question- 1. Am I heading in the right direction, The download has started & I am on to 54%

2. I am upgrading from Windows 8.1 SL ( Windows 8 was pre installed on my PC, & I updated to 8.1 years ago)

4. Will I need any windows key while installation ? ( And If yes, how do I find mine ? )

5. And how to install the update once it will have been finished downloading. I read something like don't clean install etc stuff & since I am a novice, I don't know what it is! Please help me! Thanks

PS- I chose, USB Flash Drive instead of ISO File

Thank you very much DUDE, how do I find my windows key ? Like I said, it was Windows was pre-installed in my laptop, I just did some confirmation thingy on the phone, but I don't remember the key exactly.

BTW- Is Product ID windows Key ? My computer/Properties/Windows activation/Windows key ? Sorry if this question sounds lame!

The windows key is on the bottom left of the keyboard between the Ctrl and Alt it looks like this

No the Product ID is not the key

The 20 character Product *ID* is created during the installation
process and is prominently displayed towards the bottom (in the
Activation section) on the opening panel window resulting from
right-clicking the Computer icon and selecting "Properties" from the
context menu. It is used to obtain/qualify for technical support
(limited though that may be) from Microsoft; it is of no use during the
installation process.

The 25 character Product *Key* is used to "prove" ownership of a
legitimate license and is required to perform the installation, and is
either stored on the DVD packaging on a sticker that says "Do not lose
this number," or is on a label affixed to an OEM computer

Got it ,Dude! Once the download hits 100 % will it start the procedure automatically or I have to do the installation by clicking on something ? I had chosen "Create installation media for another PC", and It is installing on a USB

Thank you yet again! ! !

Great, look at step 7 in the earlier tutorial. It shows installing from the usb.

Hey, It went great till 90%, and then suddenly the tray disappeared. I restarted the computer, and Ran the media creation tool again but it prompts me to restart the PC again!

I checked task Manger, and there's some activity going on. Service Host : Local System. This was also there when I was downloading the update. What's happening now ? Please tell me what should I do next! Thanks!

Is any one here ? I am looking for a solution please!

The USB is completely empty, the size hasn't increased. Plus I see this tmp file in the C folder, which was last modified when the downloading stopped, and its size too hasn't increased since then!

No help ? :/
