Announcing Insider build 16.0.6741.2014 for Office 2016

Announcing Insider build 16.0.6741.2014 for Office 2016 on Windows desktop

Hi everyone,

Update 16.0.6741.2014 is rolling out now to Office Insiders. To get it immediately, open any Office 2016 app and choose File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.

Here’s what’s new in this release:

•Archiving and de-cluttering: Ready to de-clutter your Inbox without worries of losing items? You can now quickly move an item stored in your Inbox or any other folder to an archive folder. Once moved, the archived items remain accessible and can easily be restored to their original location.

Collaboration made easy with Office 365 Groups: A group is a shared workspace for email, conversations, files, and calendar events where group members can collaborate and quickly get stuff done. You can now browse, join, and even create groups from within Outlook, as well as add the ones to follow most actively to your Favorites for easy access.

Do more with Power BI: If you have a Power BI subscription, you can save and publish workbook items, such as charts, ranges and tables, to powerbi.com and interact with that data in a dashboard format.

Thanks!

P.S. The cursor lag issue in Outlook is fixed in this update.

Hello,

Right after a clean installation of Win 10 Pro (which took place yesterday) bringing me right now on build 10586.164, I have installed Office 2016 Pro Plus. After the updates I am now on this version 16.0.6741.2014, of Office Insider.

Can anyone, please, tell me WHY all of the sudden all my outlook and windowsLive e-mail accounts are connected to Microsoft Exchange (in Outlook 2016)?

In the past, like two days ago before the clean installation, I had no idea of this MS Exchange, neither any of my accounts in Outlook 2016 were using this service.

What is this?
Should I prevent it and if so, how can I prevent it?

Thank you.

PS: Looking in Options / Add-ins in Outlook 2016 I see a “Microsoft Exchange Add-in”. When I disable it though, after having all my MS accounts removed and then add them again, nothing happens. Still these accounts connect to MS Exchange. My G-Mail account is not using it.

I think there were some problems with POP3 protocol in last version. Since you are using latest version, they may approach to some temporary solution and force exchange. Try manual settings.

BTW, what type of connection do you use? Pop3, Imap?
