If you’re an Insider who is eagerly waiting for extension support to arrive on Microsoft Edge, I have some good news for you. According to contacts familiar with the matter, Microsoft is finally ready to begin flighting extension support for Edge in an upcoming Insider release preview build, just in time for BUILD at the end of the month.
Go for it that should make Edge climb right up there with the other Browsers and hopefully the ones who don't like it at the moment will start trying it
What in the world is 'flighting'??
Well, this could be interesting.. I hope they come in the next build that gets dropped soon.
Jeff
Sorry Jeff! - In build 14283 but not yet.
Oh.. well with luck in a few builds to come down the line.
Thanks for the information.
I'm glad extensions are coming to Edge and I do use it when I'm on the Insider build. I still don't see me ever using Edge as my main browser.
I mean, it's great for Microsoft to finally add extensions to their browser after most others browsers have had them for years, but there's still no reason for anyone to change browsers because of this. I'm pretty sure Chrome/Firefox/Opera users are more than happy with the host of extensions they already have.
Once Edge allows extensions I would certainly take a hard look at it. I currently use ie11 and have had no real problems. I only use Chrome occasionally.
