Windows 10 Anniversary Update scheduled for a late July release
We reported earlier this month that Microsoft could release the Windows 10 Anniversary Update on PCs in July. This free update will bring many new features to Windows users such as a smarter Cortana, an improved Start Menu, a Windows Ink workspace that will enhance Pen functionality, a brand new set of emojis and a “Messaging Everywhere” feature to sync your text messages between your Windows 10 phone and PC.
We now have a more precise roadmap of the upcoming release thanks to a new report on Thurrott.com (via Windows Central). According to the report, Microsoft is aiming for a late July release of the free update for Windows 10 PCs, and it could make sense if Microsoft released this Anniversary update on July 29 which was the release date of Windows 10 on PCs.
Please note that this new report only mentions the Anniversary Update for Windows 10, and Microsoft could still change its plans in the coming months. While we don’t know yet if Windows 10 Mobile will get this Anniversary update in the same period, Microsoft revealed earlier this month that the Anniversary update would be coming to preview users on Xbox one at the end of May or early June. With this update, the Xbox One will finally get support for Universal Windows Apps and users will also be able to turn their console into devkits to test apps and games.

Bring it on.
[irony]This is a really unexpected revelation, considering:
I'd suggest 15 July 2016 or thereabouts?[/irony]
Makes sense. If they really want to stick hard to the "Anniversary Update" name, then it'll be released on July 29th.
And released to insiders about a fortnight earlier as an anniversary to the insider release of build 10240?
Seems like a good bet, yeah.
I would be happy if Cortana just got to work in my part of the world
Still absolutely _nothing_ from Microsoft _why_ Cortana don't made it to Danish, or _when_ Cortana will learn Danish!!!
Siri in my iPhone is working just fine in Danish, and have done so for long time. Why can Apple make this work, when Microsoft can't (or won't)??
No Cortana in NZ, either, and we speak English! It's not just the language, it's adapting to the different cultures that takes the time, apparently.
That's very likely the plan. Right now I'm just wondering what changes/updates will be made to the UI or are the updates from now on just going to be bug patches.
Thanks for the heads up. Looking forward to it.
