Shortcut Windows + E

Hi!

Sorry if this has been covered before, I could not find a topic to do with it in the Search function.

While Using Windows 8 I got used to using many of the Windows shortcuts, Win + R etc which I think I did because I didn't fully get on with Metro, but the shortcuts saved me.
I had never really used those ones before and it seems they have been around in XP days too!

However, now I have windows 10 Win + E No longer takes me to "My Computer" like it used to where I can see my drives and folders but the new Explorer location Home, which has the Frequent files and Folders.
My only half work around so far was to Pin My Computer to Favourites in the Home Explorer window. So now it is Win + E, & Click on My Computer on the left.

Has anyone else found this much of an issue? Is there any way I can change that shortcut back to My Computer?

Thanks!

Not really.. but I never really used those Win + commands much to begin with but it must be a pain to have to re-train for a new OS.

Jeff

Hello Chii, and welcome to Eight blog.

If you like, you could use the "This PC" shortcut in the tutorial below to "Pin to taskbar" after unpinning the default File Explorer on the taskbar that opens to "Home".

The only difference I see is it is now called "Home" instead of "my PC.", or am I missing something here?

Home is a new addition that's basically just your "Recent Items" and "Recent Places" in one place now.

Excellent! That is what I was looking for. Been testing everything else and now just came across this. Thanks!

You're most welcome.

Cheers for that Brink.

I think thats the best alternative I've come across yet. It was more the lack of it being that Keyboard shortcut that annoyed me.
Thanks again
