No Windows 10 App Showing on Taskbar

My Windows 7 Pro Operating System is fully upgraded apart from Explorer 11 which I don't like (running Explorer 10) but there is no Windows 10 App showing on the Taskbar.

According to the FAQ:

If you don’t see the Get Windows 10app on your PC, it might be because:

  • Your device isn’t up-to-date with at least Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 Update.
My OS is up to up to date including SP1
  • Windows Update is turned off or is not set to received updates automatically.
Window Update is set to inform me of updates but let me decide what to install
  • You’ve blocked or uninstalled the necessary Windows Update functionality.
As far as I know i haven't blocked the update functionality having just done a recent update
  • Your device is not running genuine Windows.
    My OS is genuine

It's number 2.. you need to have the update to automatic and not on inform mode. Change that and you'll be all set.

i read in another thread on here, it's update KB3035583 you need, check to see if you have it

Thanks for reminding me about that update.

Get Windows 10 app - KB3035583 is not included in the list of installed updates so I guess that it's either not been offered or it was optional & elected not to install back in April.

You may have an upgrade version of Windows. On our systems, we moved to Windows 7 from XP, using the upgrade packs, and on all of these, the Windows logo does not display. Personally I am actually glad it doesn't show, if I wanted it, I would get a version and install it.

My Windows 7 Pro was a Windows Anytime Upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Pro & would be very surprised, disappointed, annoyed if that excluded me from updating my legitimate Windows 7 Pro version to Windows 10 Pro as I satisfy all 4 points in the Microsoft list of requirements where no mention is made of upgrading.

I certainly wouldn't want to have to do a rebuild of Windows 7 Home Premium in order to qualify.

That being the case, I definitely won't be bothering Windows 10.

I'm in the same situation WightWalker. I have two PC's. One running Windows 7 Home 64-bit, the other one has Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Both are set to download and install updates automatically. The PC with Windows 7 Pro has the Windows 10 logo on the taskbar, the PC with Windows 7 Home doesn't. I'm going to update Windows 10 on the PC with Windows 7 Home, not the Windows 7 Pro.
Both computer bought and paid for thru HP store, so I assume the HP Pavilion p6750f Windows 7 Home must have a genuine OS system
