At the present my computer goes into standby automatically.

How do I change it so it doesn't go into standby so I don't have to enter my password every time?

I have tried everything!

Tully

On mine its right click start menu and chose power options

then edit current plan and change the option for when to put computer to sleep

Hello Tully,

In addition, it'll be the same as it was in Windows 8 below.

Password Protection on Wakeup - Enable or Disable in Windows 8

Control panel
power options
systems settings
select
don't require a password.

My Control Panel in W10 does not have a "Power Option".

Hi

You should be able to get to Power Options by right clicking on the Start Button.
It's in the right click drop down list.

I did that, found the relevant tick boxes, made choice to "DO NOT REQUIRE PASSWORD on awake" clicked "SAVE", shut down, restarted, no change!

Tully, Hello welcome to the blog. Restart is a different thing from wake from sleep? If you want auto restart there is a tutorial for that on this blog. Good luck Charlie

Log On User Account Automatically at Windows 8 Startup

If you don't want it to auto sleep, set "Put the computer to sleep:" to never in the Plan settings.

Did that! Still goes into screen saver & have to put in password after wake!

Must be some thing I am not doing right!
