ok so I was going to do a clean install of windows 10 after I upgraded using the media creation tool you can see a post I made here I used the media creation to put win 10 home on a usb then I went to install I skipped the product key part because I already activated when I upgraded from 7 after it finished everything looked fine but when I went to check my activation this is what I got when I click error details
it says: "The activation server determined the specific product key has been blocked. (Error code: 0xC004C003)
I would guess it's a server overload.. just keep trying. When I upgraded yesterday I encountered the same issue but in a few hours I was able to activate.
Jeff
when you mean keep trying you mean like reboot or something or like just wait it out ?
No.. just try activating every so often.. maybe every hour or so. That's what I did.
I just tired the slmgr.vbs /ato thing and a few seconds after it just tells me the server as decided to block my key.. I really hope I didn't screw myself over lol
I would not use that and just activate it the "regular" way.
Hi BunnyJ, may I ask you what is the regular way because I'm in the same situation, there isn't any activation button just Change product Key and go to Store button. I updated from windows 8.1 pro to windows 10 pro succesfully yesterday, i checked a few times it was activated, then i decided to do a clean install via USB drive with the Microsoft tool, but now I am finding this problem since yesterday evening.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
this is how I got mine working tbh
How did you do it? because i don't have any activation button, just Change Product Key and Go to Store buttons.
Regards
Same here.
