Dear Support,
I have also experienced this. How to solve? Thanks.
Allen Low
Something I have saved in a file for undetermined problems like this:
You can fix Windows files and problems with Windows Update
by copy & pasting this in an Admin Command Prompt:
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&sfc/scannow&Dism/Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&sfc/scannow&pause
And let it run through, then
reboot and run it again to check if it cleaned everything. It
may take awhile depending on your hardware(HDD or SSD), and it may
appear to freeze at 20% on the third part, just be patient and
let in run out.
Or you can download the zip file open properties & unblock it
then extract it and follow the instructions. It's the above command in a
batch file with a shortcut that request to run elevated, that can be placed on your desktop-
SFCdism.zip
Hi Cliff,
Thank you so much.
But what is the SFCdism.zip file cleaning and why?
Allen Low
The zip is only the same commands above so you don't have to always open a command prompt and type or copy & paste the above command. I have placed the .bat file in documents and the icon on my desktop. This command fixes corrupted and finds missing system files(not you must heave internet access for the DISM portion to work, it connects to Microsofts servers)
Just download and manual install from this link below:
Windows Update error 0x80004005 for KB3087040!!! - Page 3 - Windows 10 blog
This worked for me.
Thanks !!!!
