Microsoft confirms recovery tool for Windows 10 for phones previewersMicrosoft has officially confirmed that a software recovery tool will be available for those joining the Windows 10 for phones preview program, so they can roll back their devices to Windows Phone 8.
As we reported previously Windows 10 for phones is expected to ship in preview form sometime this week. But seeing as it’s unfinished software most users might be better off staying away from the unstable version.
However, Gabriel Aul took to Twitter earlier to assure users that a software recovery tool will be available in case users run into too much trouble with the preview build.
Good to know !
Is there an existing list yet of the supported phones? "@RoyHansen1 Yes, we'll have a recovery tool to roll back for all phones that are supported for the preview." I have a $20 Nokia Lumia 521 that might be "tested" if supported.
I like that line "For all supported Phones"! What are we to do? Guess?

What would one do with a recovery tool on a phone that is not supported, LOL.@RoyHansen1Yes, we'll have a recovery tool to roll back for all phones that are supportedfor the preview
It's been reported, (unofficially), that there is something severely wrong with this tool.
I ran it and got zapped with a BSOD and my phone went black.
Restarted my PC, now I'm experiencing all kinds of issues.
Took the battery out of my Phone and restarted it then ran Nokia Recovery Software. Phone's all good!
(Now to get my PC back on track!)
