MoreMicrosoft is bringing quite a lot of changes in Windows 10, and the technical preview builds that can be downloaded right now are living proof that, as compared to its predecessors, the new OS will make everything not only more appropriate for all users, but also more appealing in terms of looks.
One of the undiscovered changes that could be part of Windows 10 is a new login screen layout that's already available in build 9901 if you turn down to a little registry hack.
Basically, Microsoft is working to change the old look of the login screen and reposition elements, such as your profile picture and the password box in order to make the layout look a bit more modern. In terms of usability, it's not yet clear how the new configuration would improve things, but there's no doubt that this is a very helpful addition to Windows 10.
Interesting change from the current login. I for one really like the new look, YMMV.

looks ok if you have more than one account, don't see the point for single user machine, just looks like an extra step to enter your password
I have auto-logon set up on 9901 - works fine. You don't have to enter your password..
Sounds like a good option, is that with an MS account or local? (I use MS account)
I use MS account also. I used this tutorial Log On User Account Automatically at Windows 8 Startup
Thanks for the info, going to do some reading of that
Is there an iso of this thing anywhere that's less than 2 GB? Everything I see is 4. So I assume it's an Enterprise edition? Why the big rigamarole to download?
I don't know if it's an improvement, but at least they got rid of that lock screen that everyone 'loves' so much!!!
Just different I guess, haven't tried it with a local account yet. Kinda buggy though.
Lock screen on startup is foolish
