Hello i have 2 pieces of Nextbook model NXW101QC32W tablet. One is on windows 8.1 and the other on windows 10. The camera on windows 8.1 is working while the one on windows 10 doesnt work.
The tablet with windows 8 shows camera as "Intel (r) Imaging Signal Processor 2400" while the tablet on windows 10 shows camera as "Intel (r) AVStream Camera". I could extract the drivers from windows 8 but dont know how to extract registry file for camera. Anyway, i tried the procedure of uninstalling camera, installling the windows 8 camera drivers on windows 10 tablet and then reinstall camera, then pc restarts with error.....and when it restarts ultimately camera doesnt work. Though my screen orientation works fine. Can you please guide me and help me out?
I verified a second time that removing/re-installing the camera app and making registry entries is not required. My Nextbook Tablet model # is NXW101QC232. This is what worked on my Nextbook tablet.
I exported all the drivers from Windows 8 using dism. I clean installed Windows 10. For the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, unknown devices, and those with exclamation points in device manager, I right clicked, updated device drivers, and searched online. During this time, all the Microsoft Windows Updates were downloading as well. Before I started messing with manually installing drivers, I let all the Windows Updates complete. Then for those that would not load from online, I browsed computer for them, and selected the folder that I exported all of the drivers to.
This installed Intel(R) AVStream Camera under Imaging devices and two Camera Sensor HM2056s under System devices. I uninstalled both Camera Sensor HM2056s and clicked the box for Delete the driver software for this device. Then I right clicked on Intel(R) AVStream Camera, Update Driver Software..., Browse my computer for driver software, Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, Have Disk, Browse, go to the folder of exported device drivers, selected the folder that starts with camera.inf_x86, then the camera.inf file, Open, then select Intel(R) Imaging Signal Processor 2400, next. Restart the tablet.
After restart, you should have two unknown devices. Select them, right click, browse computer, point it to the folder where you exported the drivers, next. It should find the drivers for the Camera Sensor HM2056s again. Restart the tablet once more.
Now the camera app should work with both the front and rear cameras. There is no need to remove/re-install the camera app or do any registry entries. The camera will only work from a clean boot, though. It will not work after a resume from sleep or hibernate, and it will not work after a restart with Windows 10 fast startup enabled.
I'll try it out and let you know in a few hours
Hello NavyLCDR, solution not working for me, no other choice then to wait for Windows 8 file
Hello NavyLCDR, can you please share drivers for Intel(R) AVStream? Thank you
That's the driver that Windows 10 wants to install by default. It doesn't work on my tablet so I don't have it installed and not sure it would export anyway since that is the native driver Windows 10 wants to load.
Ok, don't know what to do, my supplier won't share the file with me and your solution doesn't work
As an alternative, you may try free YouCam Essentials from Cyberlink. At least the webcam should work with it.
Hi bro, is this application for free?
Yes, it is free. YouCam is not free, but YouCam Essentials is free.
