No bass with Dolby Digital Plus

Hello guys
I did a clean install to Windows 10, because upgrading it break the WiFi connectivity.

Now I got another issue, I noticed that the Audio Driver downloaded from Windows Update is somehow didn't sound good, if I enabled Dolby the bass is drastically reduced like no bass at all. I tried with headset and a small sound system, they both sound like a laptop speaker. The old driver couldn't be installed, the installer always failed.

I tried to use the same driver for windows 10 from another lenovo product with no different. Do you guys have any idea about this? It is not a big deal because I'm using a USB Headset. What matter is when I use a sound system to play music/movie the sound really bad. The solution for now is to disable Dolby but the sound is really low. I would like to know is there is a way to install the old driver to Windows 10 at least?

My sound card is Conexant SmartAudio other spec can be found in Sytem Spec and the installed driver version is 8.66.4.0.

Thanks in advance. I'm looking forward for your respond and sorry for my bad English.

I had the same problem, I also have Lenovo, my model is G505.

What solved the problem for me was, I opened this

then I changed from ''CLASSIC'' to ''MULTI-STREAM''

and then your sound should be ok,

and then you can adjust your bass in DDP and be happy again!

Please respond if this helps.

Hi atomxz
Thanks man its working! Now I have the bass sound again

Working great on Lenovo G510 too. Thanks!

worked perfectly on my z50 70 thanks alot mate!!!!

I registered just so I could thank you! Works perfectly on Z50-75!

Doesn't work for me... I own a Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK. It seems that when I change form classic to multistream the DDP software doesn't work properly anymore. I have this two situations:

with classic settings on

with multistream settings on

Any suggestions?

Well in mu situation, I use both headphones and speakers on my laptop so what multistream did was separate my speakers from headphones in settings (Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Playback) so if you have the same situation you could go to Sound Playback tab and check if your headphones/speakers are set as default.

Yes they're set as default

Just like Vlajko said, it separate headphones and speakers, so you have to set one of them as the default playback. Speakers is set by default. if you use headphones (through the headphones jack) you have to make the headphones playback as the default playback, dont worry the system will switch to speakers again if the headphone unplugged. But it wont work with USB headphones or speakers.
