Plex update - Some m2ts (blu ray) files now play

Hi there

not sure if it's the latest PLEX update but I've a load of files in m2ts format (Blu Ray) captured from a SKY Q minibox.

These files now stream and play - before I had to re-code as mkv / mp4. I'm not sure if PLEX is transcoding - but performance seems quite OK -- no jitter etc and full 1080p.

It could be that PLEX has problems with encrypted files - but I think the HDMI splitter I'm using from the SKY Q minibox into the TV capture device for recording strips off any residual DRM.

Anyway nice surprise -- will save HOURS of recoding !!!!

I've tried with PLEX running both on Windows and Linux -- no probs on either.

Cheers

I have got the hump with the latest update as my Now TV box which had Plex sideloaded on it no longer works with new server. Reverting to older version is not that easy as I cannot find a download of older version.

Hi there @cereberus

Here you are - the archive with loads of previous versions (Linux, Windows, QNAP etc etc).

You owe me a pint !!!! (or two or three).

Downloads - Plex

Note - the web site takes a while to load - even with fast ISP so give it a chance to load.

I always in any case download and install rather than install directly so I can revert back if I need to

OK, as an Icelander, I am sure you will be able to work the sum below.

I owe you 3 hundred and 5 and half 3 (twenty) pence to buy a guinness (using the completely insane Danish counting system literally converted to english)

(tres hundrede og fem og halvtreds). (note-twenty is omitted by modern convention)

see Just a Number - Scandinavia and the World for those who have no idea what I am talking about!

Come to Aberdeen to collect :-).

Hi there

I can just about remember a visit to England many years ago when you saw prices in shops like 10 1/2 guineas !! -- A guinea was I think 21 shillings although 20 shillings was in a pound, and 12 pence in a shilling --so totally illogical counting system too -- as for those old measurements on the back of School writing / exercise books with Rods / poles/ perches etc I don't think ANY Danish system was as bad as the old UK system (will they be going back to those measurements again after "Brexit" !!).

Cheers
and have fun

Jimbo
