Justw ondering if anyone else lost Speccy when upgdating to 10525? I had a pop up telling me it was incompatible and sure enough it's nowhere to be found, looks like the update nuked it.
Try to d/l Speccy and re-install again. It just might work. Just a thought.
I will do, just wondering if anyone else had received the same message.
I am not running the same version you are. Mine is from updating my Win 7 Ultimate to Win 10 Pro. But even my version removed Speccy twice. All I had to do was re-install Speccy and it runs fine. Just thought it might work for your insider version.
Running fine here:
I don't have 10525 yet, because I am on the slow ring. But I remember Speccy being uninstalled in the last two (at least, maybe more) builds as they came through. I have to keep reinstalling it too.
FYI, I always prefer to use portable softwares when available(No installation needed, just unzip and run) instead of running the Installer to install it.
Piriform does provide the portable version of CCleaner & Speccy from links below:
For Speccy: Speccy - Builds
For CCleaner: CCleaner - Builds
It is more convenient especially when you run multiple versions of Windows. Just unzip to a common folder on another drive or put them in a USB stick then use the same copy for whatever Windows you boot into.
That's a very good idea! Thanks!
On the RTM after upgrade and clean install it has disappeared from my system(I don't know how(maintenance maybe?) I had to reinstall it a couple of times, then one time when I opened it, it BSOD'd my system.
Needless to say I opened up Geek Uninstaller and purged it from my system.
It worked good for a while, but after one of the Cumulative updates it became buggy. I only used it for the temps(which I don't really need) and system tree( for which I can use CMD).
A program that's not system necessary or really needed only needs to cause problems once and it's gone, but I won't rant about it. I'll wait a couple of months and try it again.
It caused a few BSODs that I saw personally to be honest while debugging, I think Piriform have a game on their hands keeping up with new build fallouts to be honest.
