Problem Solved

On 08/07/2015 I upgraded my laptop fromWindows 8.1 toWindows 10. I cannot log onto my lap-top. On my Windows 8.1 log-in screen, my account was *removed*
When Windows 10 was installed, the log-in screen showed the same Microsoft account - *removed*. I tried my old password and it did not work. I tried resetting the password at account.live.com/password/reset at lease 4-times. I got different codes and changed the password but my Laptop Windows 10 does not accept any of the passwords.

I finally figured out that when I typed a password with special characters or number from 1-4, they do not register when I type them in. When I take these characters out and use just lower case letters and numbers from 6-9, they register but I am still unable to log-on.

In addition, when I try to enter Safe Mode, the Command Promptis un-available. I spent time chatting with Microsoft’s Help Desk and they had no clue. They advised that I wait for a fix from Microsoft.

Since I cannot wait for a fix, I need to uninstall Windows 10. How do I do this?

the only way I know to do this is to create a boot USB pen with windows media creator sMe version W 10 that you installed.....boot from this click on repair on second screen then troubleshoot then I believe there is an option to roll back to the previous OS this is available for 1 month from Windows 10 installation......wonder if you can reset your account password and login on an iPad or other PC .......if you can, then possibly the keyboard driver/layout is wrong and the wrong charachters are being entered for key presses....think there is an onscreen keyboard, but it certain....could try this....PS you should NEVER put your full email address in a post........good luck
PPS once you boot from the USB pen as described earlier, you also have a choice to go back to an earlier restore point, reset windows 10, hopefully with the option to keep files and settings, a command line option and windows repair.......spoilt for choice huh LOL

I have never done this personally, but there's a provision to rollback. (Assumes that you've kept windows.old.) Here is one description:

Rollback from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 / 7

Best of luck.

If you need the command prompt window to help you.
From a windows 7 install disk you can get into the cmd by pressing Shift+F10 at the first enter keyboard screen.

Thanks for responding. I saw these instructions before, but assumed that you need to be able to log into Windows 10 to access the start menu...my problem is: I cannot access the start menu because I cannot log onto my Laptop.

You should be able to get the cmd if you shutdown the system when you see the windows icon by pressing the start button until it shuts off, do it 3 times and the recovery options come up one of the options in there will let you boot to safe mode with command prompt.

Thanks Bazz for taking the time to respond. I finally figured out how to log onto my Windows 10 Laptop-no help from Microsoft. By using the shift + FN + the special character that was in my password, and ZZbam, I am in. How do you like those cookies? Remember, my log on screen was not accepting the first 4 special characters - I do not know why. I just played around with different keys and combinations. It is called intuitiveness! Thanks much.
