How to go back to windows 8.1 after upgrading to 10 for over a month?

Its been more than a month that i have updated my Pc to windows 10, and i actually dont like it at all so i need to find a way to go back to windows 8.1 without losing data like Steam games and pictures and more.

There are generally two ways to go back to a previous OS; one is to use the ISO for the previous OS, in which case you will have to reload all of your programs and sundry data. The other way is to simply load a system image of your main drive that you have stored, in which case you will also load all of your apps and programs that are contained in your drive. Of course either way, you will have to store your data somewhere else before you load the system image or ISO because this will disappear once you re-image your main drive.

Of course these are moot points if you created a clone of your drive before you loaded Windows 10.

Too late now to revert back to 8.1 without doing a clean install of 8.1. You can save your data by making a backup of your current system, but will have to re-install all your programs.

If your problem is the flat icons, you can replace them with Windows 7 or 8.1 icons with Customizer God. Read in the Customization section for details. If you have other issues, we will be glad to help.

If you change your mind about Windows 10 after the month is up, there is no built-in downgrade option available to you. In order to go back to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, you will need to back up all of your files and then reinstall the older version of Windows from your original installation media, or by downloading the ISOs from Microsoft.

What kind of PC is it, is it a brand name like Dell, HP and so on . If so ? Might be able to restore back by using the recovery partition back to factory setting

Unfortunately, that will still lose all the OP's programs and data:

I'm sure he could copy his data onto a usb stick, as for games? SaidGh, what is worth more to you your games or windows 8.1 ? And why can't you reload the games ?

Most games can just be copied to another disk and they should run without reinstalling. When you run one it will ask for the original DVD as a proof of purchase, read some data from it and then load. So he can backup them from Program Files and Program Files (x86). In worst case 1-2 games might need to reinstall, but it would be only them. The others should work from the backup.
