Windows 10 Slow Boot

Does anyone else find windows 10 much slower than windows 7 to boot. I have installed a clean copy of windows 10 and windows 7 on 2 identical ssd drives. windows 7 takes 20 seconds to boot and windows 10 takes 55 seconds.

both are
64 bit
UEFI (same if legacy boot too)
clean installs from latest ISO
Dell 3847 PC with latest BIOS

I've found the opposite to be true, Windows 10 is faster than Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

Can you post screen captures of a full screen Disk Management window with all fileds expanded so they can bee seen, from both Win 7 and Win 10?
Other than that, the only other thing I can think of is there is a problem with one of the SSDs. Try swappign them by installing Win 7 where Win 10 is and vice versa.

Have you try UEFI + GPT + Quick Start. Do you use GPT ? Maybe when the official version comes out, this problem will be solve

Thanks guys. Both ssd's are crucial mx100 500gb with the newest firmware mu02. it makes no difference which OS is installed on which drive. I also get the same results with identical sata standard hdd's.

I have added a screenshot of windows 7 and will add windows 10 shortly

Here is the Windows 10 shot

Also there has been no change with 10166

Welcome to W10F's!

Fast Startup doesn't apply to restarts.

If you want to see what is slowing down your boot time, go to this postand import the Boot Time custom view I created to your Event Viewer(follow instructions on page to do this).

Tests from cold boot results
windows 7 - 16 seconds. not a clean install, have been using for about 1 year
windows 8 - 16 seconds. clean install

The original times I quoted are restart times. The time taken to restart the computer from the desktop, back to the desktop, with local accounts i.e no passwords/logons.

Windows 10 taking around 3 times longer to complete the process. Are you guys getting the same sort of results?

Restart on Windows 8 is like a cold boot, to speed it up you need to turn Hibernate on and then Fast Start up:

Also in BIOS turn on "Fast Boot"
