Hello Orac, and welcome to windowssh blog.

The tutorial below can help show you how to create a bootable Windows 10 installation USB from the ISO.

I work on a number of computers that can't boot USB so I use my CD/DVD Burning program to create the bootable DVD from that .iso file.

The file could be bootable, try first burning to DVD and find out if it can boot. If not, there is a utility called Plop Boot Manager that will allow any PC to boot from USB, independently of BIOS support. It is an ISO that you can burn to a CD and use it to boot the computer with. It then presents you with a custom boot loader that allows you to boot from every possible device on your computer, including USB DVD-ROM or USB hard disk or USB flash drive. This way you can first boot from that CD and then detect and chose your USB flash drive to boot and install Windows 10. It is ideal for old PCs that their BIOS supports boot from a CD-ROM but not from a DVD-ROM even if you have a DVD-RW drive connected. You can either use it to boot from the DVD-ROM or from a USB flash drive.

Hi and welcome!

A good and easy burn program to burn a bootable DVD is ImgBurn. And is Freeware.

Well ImgBurn will burn an ISO file to DVD, but how can it make it bootable? The ISO file must contain bootable code in the first place. If you extract the boot sector from a bootable Windows 7 or higher DVD, you can use Nero (or other software) to add it to an ISO compilation in order to make it bootable. But first burn your ISO to disk and check it. It could already be bootable.
