I built my 1st PC and installed Win 10. I'm now in the middle of installing the Intel network drivers. It asks me if I want to install the network driver, Intel ProSet and Advanced Network Services.
Obviously I should install the network driver. But considering that I only got ethernet and no wireless on my motheboard, should I install Intel ProSet and Advanced Network Services? Are these needed if I only got Ethernet but no wireless?
Keep It Simple. All you need is the driver.
Yes, that would also be my advice. Usually these tools and services are not really helpful, all they do is occupy space on your drive and create one more source for possible issues.
After downloading Proset Wireless, select "custom" install and install the driver only to avoid the unwanted software installing.
You didn't read what I said. I'm not given the choice to untick it. I got to install it along with the driver by default.
Is the Wireless built in with the MB ? . If you don't use the Wireless then access the BIOS, in Integrated Peripheral option->disable it.
After downloading, when you try to install do you get as in the first snip? Tick the EULA and select Customize( you need to click the wheels), at the next window untick wireless software extensions.
Read my original post.
I downloaded the Intel driver from MSI since it's customized for my MSI mobo. The install interface you showed is most likely for general installs, not ones supplied by mobo manufactures like MSI.
Even though you said you have no wireless network. I myself also have MSI MB and it does have a built in wireless.
