Epson Perfection 1640SU scanner

Hi, has anyone been able to get the Epson Perfection 1640SU scanner to work with Windows 10 64bit

Did you download the driver and install it ?

not yet as it didn't auto detect the scanner, but Epson Australia have told me that it won't work with Windows 10.... - i'll try it though and let you know if it works, thank you

I have an Epson 1650 scanner, it was not easy, but I did get it running on Windows 10. I had to use a modified driver version, which also works for me on Windows 8 and 8.1.

For the 1640, Epson obviously offers updated drivers, which should solve your problem.

which driver as there isn't one for win 10

thanks but that isn't a driver it's an event manager utility??

Yes, just checked. There is no Windows 10 driver, only for Windows 7, but you could try that. It should work.

Try this Windows 10 driver for the Epson Perfection 2400....Worked great for my Epson Perfection 1660...(there also a 32 bit edition if you need}



Instructions to install if you need it:

Install software FIRST with scanner disconnected (USB). Connect scanner go to Device Manager (WIN + X) find scanner. Right click proceeded to update driver. Choose look in local files; let me choose from list...choose Image... Epson perfection 2400 photo...install....choose yes when asked about install wrong driver....reboot...check Windows 10 for updates just to make sure driver is not update or replaced by Windows
