I am trying to figure out where to get this driver for my HP LaserJet 4 printer. Worked fine in windows 7 but for some reason now it created an error #123. Through troubleshooting it said spooler had previous print job pending. Killed that restarted the spooler, then restarted the computer. After trying to print again same error #123. Uninstall printer re-install same error..
Does anyone have a HP Driver for this. Went to HP and it lists for windows 10 Update. Though nothing shows up when I search windows update for the HP LaserJet 4. Lots for windows 7 & 8.
Thanks In Advance. Douglas
Sorry I don't have an answer but could you please post back if you get it figured out. I am going to be upgrading to Windows 10 soon and would like to have this printer working.

Thanks for the reply Almighty.. I have already gone that rout with that HP Page. Which btw just says that once the computer is connected to the internet its done with the windows update. This does not work. This actually is a problem that occurred after the update to 10586. So I am still looking for a solution.
I had to reinstall driver thru Ad Printer in Device and Printers in the control panel.
Clicked on The Printer that I want isn't listed > My printer is a little older > It found it and installed but options are pretty scarce. BTW, mine is 4L.
I threw in the towel and used a USB to Parallel cable and installed as local printer. Seems ok now.. thanks to all that replied...

ps Sad that windows 10 can't see anything on the parallel port.
@dsherman, have you tried going to the Microsoft Update Catalog website with Internet Explorer?
I have a weird issue too with both 10240 and 10586. I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 586dw. The thing is Device Manager shows the printer and fax in both printers and printer queues which shows as working properly but it also shows the printer in Multi-Function Adapters as disabled. I run the setup.exe program after deleting the printer and fax under Printers which made the one in printer queues disappear which installs the printer again but the Multi-Function Adapters still shows the printer with a arrow except no drivers can be found yet the printer works fine.
Yes I did try that and windows 10 still could not pick up the printer on the parallel port.
Makes you wonder if Windows 10 still support the Parallel port. Looks like 1511 aka build 10586 breaks LPT Parallel port functionality...
Yes I'd agree with that. Maybe M$ will fix the error. Do you think that's possible? I know they want to help sell new hardware by eliminating drivers for things like old printers. But the HP Laserjet 4 that I have is built like a tank and prints beautifully!
