Frequent BSODs - L1C63x64.sys

Since upgrading to Windows 10 I am getting frequent BSODs with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL in L1C634x64.sys especially when the network is loaded (heavy bit torrent activity)

Googling has led me to believe that it is problems lies with my Atheros driver so I have updated to the most recent available however this has not solved the problem and I am still getting BSOD, sometimes, every 5 minutes or so.

Mini dumps attached.

Help! Please!

Hi bobjbain,

Welcome to the 10blog.

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Alcohol120% and run the SPTD pass through remover.

  1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
  2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
    • Double click the executable to open it
    • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.

Please check Qualcommor Atherosfor driver updates.
The Qualcomm Atheros network driver is old and needs updating

Thanks @axe0.

Strangely though I didn't have the SPTD or Alcohol 120% installed, despite having shortcuts and start menu items! I guess it really is time I did a fresh install as I seem to have a load of rubbish hanging around.

I had previously updated to a higher version of the Atheros driver but that didn't seem to sort the issue. However I have now found another driver (through DriverMax 7) which was newer though it is version 2.1.0.17. Driver was updated on 29th September this year. I have installed that one and my network appears to be going faster. Torrents seem to be more stable too.

I have update other driver where I could, bit concerned that O have realtek drivers installed when I don't have any realtek equipment but like I say I may have to do a fresh install.

And I couldn't find any AOD in Add/Remove programs or any other way to remove it.

Things seem to be a bit steadier at the moment but I'll give it a wee while longer before I'm totally happy.

Thanks again

I really hope you don't have installed any driver with DriverMax7 but via the official site.
   Warning
Programs that claim to update your drivers install either the wrong or corrupted drivers.
If you have installed any driver with DriverMax7, please remove them as it may cause trouble.
