Is there a way to remove the "New" for newly installed apps under the Start menu?
You have to runthe newly installed programs.
I know in Windows 8.1, you can run a .reg to just disable this "feature."Surely Windows 10 has something similar?Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowsExplorer]
"NoNewAppAlert"=dword:00000001
It will disappear over a short time.
There has to be a way to edit it though the reg.
Why do you want to go into the registry and take a chance to mess thing's up ?
Simply open the program and the dreaded "New" will go away by magic.
Why do you fear the registry? It is pretty easy to work if you understand what is there and what specifically you are looking for.
Windows 10 does, but it's not for the same thing.
New App Installed Notification - Enable or Disable in Windows 10
The only way I know of to remove the "New" notice for apps on Start is to open the app, or wait until it's no longer new.
Excuse me, I thought I would point out the extremely easy way to "Remove" the "New" which appears to scare you.
Obviously you are more well versed in all thing's 10.
No, that is not it at all. It's just I shouldn't have to if I do not want to. I am an extremely minimalistic Windows user. I delete everything I can, have nothing running in the background, and turn off all the bells and whistles.
