Windows 10 completely different after latest update, is it just me?

Edit: Although I received a message of "Updates were successfully installed" right after I opened my computer to all these changes on 8/23, the last update registered is for 8/20 (I did use my computer between these dates), so it may not be an update issue, but those updates were KB3081444 and KB3081441 if it matters. Still, I would like help solving this problem.

Sometime yesterday my Windows 10 updated and now my task bar and start menu are completely different. I've searched around the web trying to see if anyone else was having this same issue, but I haven't seen a single mention of it. Basically, my task bar is completely empty aside from the default wifi, sound, battery level, programs menu, etc. over on the right, and 4 buttons to the far left for start menu, Cortana, task view, and a "back" button that takes me to the desktop with the start menu open. All of my pinned programs are gone and not even the icons for currently open programs are showing up. In order to navigate through my programs I have to sort through them in task view.

In order to even open any of my programs, I have to find them in the programs menu, or ask Cortana, because the start menu seems to have reverted to something reminiscent of the Windows 8 start menu, but only with the "Life at a Glance" and "Play and Explore" categories, containing nothing particularly useful.

I would tell you what update it was, but I'm having difficulty navigating everything as is, even through my most familiar programs. Plus, I'm not 100% sure this was caused by an update, or if something else is going on. Either way, if I'm able to find the update eventually I'll put it in here, butfor now I'll just post some screen shots of what all of this looks like. If anyone can please help me get my Windows 10 back to normal it would be much appreciated. If it is an update issue, I know I can uninstall it, but I'd rather not do that if at all possible.

And no, turning it off and back on again didn't work, unfortunately.

You are in "Tablet mode" just revert back and you will be fine.

You miracle worker you.

I guess this just proves I suck at computers...

Never noticed that change in Tablet mode before :-). Also, Tablet mode changes the way windows resizing works. That's why I don't use it.

Although....I do have issues with my desktop media center PC. When my media player automatically starts I get a pesky taskbar at the bottom (because of the newly running media player program added to it) until I click in the media player with a mouse click and the taskbar auto hides again. I wonder if tablet mode would fix that?

Not exactly sure about that, Media player used to take up a lot of RAM during music play back and system resources too, I switched to third party light app for the music playing option. Normally use it to prevent the system from going into sleep during download and things at night. Play the music list, put it in mute and done, It will continue and the system wont sleep at all.

Tripped from the real query, didn't I?
