multiple microsoft accounts

my user account is associated with my primary microsoft account. And until now, onedrive has been syncing to that account. Now I made a second microsoft account, and I would like it to sync to Onedrive, while at the same time, my user account is still associated with the primary account.Does this make problems? What about syncing my windows settings -- will they still sync properly to my primary account?Another question: is there a way to make onedrive sync to two different microsoft accounts, simultaneously? In separate folders, obviously.

My personal feeling is that OneDrive will not function correctly if you have different Microsoft accounts for OneDrive and for normal login. The reason is that OneDrive is also the location for all the sync data that stores your settings and so it will become very confused! I am not aware that you can have two different OneDrive folders set up on one account, you would need to have the two Microsoft accounts set up as two separate users on your PC and then each would have its own OneDrive folder.

thanks
I tried it out for a few hours, although that is not long enough to tell if there are problems with syncing windows settings.
Then I discovered that from the secondary account, I can send to my primary account a link that gives editing rights. And what's more, I can share folders from one account with the other, in such a way that the shared folders appear in both accounts.
So basically, I can do just about anything I need to do, without having to switch back and forth between accounts, or trying to run them simultaneously (which seems impossible).

Ok, that's very interesting and I did not think that far ahead. What you have done is basically shared all the folders across the two accounts so in effect you only need to use one of the accounts to see all your files. It begs the question as to why you need the two accounts and you will have to decide which to use as the main one because I still think that will be important for syncing your account settings across multiple devices unless you make each account a mirror image of the other. I guess you have the option to merge all your files into one account, if you wish to in the future and delete the one you do not need.

the second account is a jointly managed one, it contains a collection of audio files that we want to make available to people by link.

I have 2 MS accounts and do the same as you - share the folders from the secondary to the primary. The shared folders then show up in the onedrive app to sync along with the primary accounts folders. It is a nice way to get double the free storage

I've been doing this for several months with no problems.

Add and sync shared folders to your OneDrive - OneDrive
