Receiving multiple copies of some emails

Using Outlook 2016, Windows 10. In the last few days, I've started getting multiple copies of the same email. Not all emails, but most. Some, just two or three. Others, up to a dozen of the same email. I've got four accounts at two different servers (RoadRunner and GoDaddy) ... and it's happening to all four, which is why I think it's an Outlook problem.

Additional clue: Some of the emails I'm getting multiple copies of are from last month ... stuff that had been deleted many days ago.

First instinct is to look at my settings (both POP accounts), to see if things are set up correctly. But that makes no sense — up until two or three days ago, everything was working exactly the way it should. I haven't made any system changes, haven't installed new software ... can't think of anything that would've made this juststart happening.

Any way to make this stop that doesn't require a hammer?

Thanks, anybody.......

Windows 8.1, Outlook 2016 and the same thing has started happening to me. I have made no changes to any settings, but suddenly I'm getting multiple copies of emails.

It looks like it started on Monday.........could it be related to the leap year?

Through the process of registering for this forum and typing this post, I have hit "send/receive" 3 times, and now I have 3 copies of one email. At this point it seems quote random - 3 copies of one email, but only 1 copy of another etc.

Edit: A bit more searching and it seems to be a "known bug" introduced in the last 2016 release in February. Apparently happens if the "leave a copy on the server" setting is enabled. Microsoft advise either removing the setting so all messages are deleted, or using IMAP instead of POP3. Tough luck for those of us stuck with slow and expensive internet connections that make IMAP untenable!!!

I am having exact same issue. Windows 10, Outlook 16, GoDaddy email account. It's so strange that it happens to some emails but not all; maybe 40% of mine.

I don't want to change it to IMAP from POP3, or have copies removed from the server. That's bogus!

No other known solution????

If you prefer not to disable " leave a copy on the server " suggestion, then I would suggest that you ask the question at Microsoft Community , Office forum where the forum is exclusively dedicated to Office Outlook 2016...............
