New computer w windows 10 froze after 30 minutes

Brand new computer, just took it out of the box. Came with windows 10 already installed. Worked fine at first. I deleted a couple of junk programs like the Ebay app. Transferred some documents, pictures, movies, and music files from an external hard drive onto the computer. None of those files were files types that (I would think) are high risk. Downloaded ITunes. Installed ESET smart security anti-virus program.

Now computer is frozen. Ctr-alt-delete doesn't work. Ctr-shift-esc doesn't work. The cursor can be moved around on screen but clicking anywhere, or on anything has no effect. Keyboard has no effect. The only way I can even restart is with the power button, but when I restart it starts up into the same frozen state. Have tried starting it in safe mode but can't get it to enter safe mode on startup.

Ideas?

Your not alone , lots of people say the same . I have had Win 10 working fine many times and all of a sudden "freeze" and even after waiting a long while , no improvement .

I can't even keep track of how many times i have had to re install the OS to get it to work again only to do the same a day later.

If it is an OS problem, and I want to re install the OS, how would I even do that? Everything is frozen to hell.

I would boot from the system restore USB flash drive and it should give you the option to reset this PC.

I don't have a system restore USB flash drive.

K. First, knowing what make and model # of the computer will help us to help you.

Second, you will need an 8gb flash drive, but 16gb would be better. From an operating computer, make a Windows 10 install USB with the same version Windows 10 on the new computer. You will use Windows 10 Media Creation Tool for that.

In on my phone right now so no link to MCI but easy to find.

Then we will go from there.

I've been working on a very-top-of-line custom computer that a young man built for his grandfather about 10 months ago. It works fine for awhile then locks up. It's quite random. I'm down to the issue being with the 256GB SSD boot drive. The 2TB storage drive is okay.

Thanks. I'm trying something else that seems to be working. I forced the computer to power off in the middle of the startup process a couple of times. Then, when I started back up, it allowed me to launch the trouble shooter. I'm seeing where this goes but it's promising so far. If this doesn't work I'll try the USB installation as suggested.

Hi what Antivirus did it come installed with, as if you have installed another one and not removed completely the old one files and all, that will cause the problem you are getting.
Reading your post it only started when you put an Antivrus program on your computer

Hi,same symptoms!
Restart not works, freezes on spinning balls (logon screen)
Start Windows possible only through the Power button.
For week of work I had install so many programs and information.
All is lost.
Computer stops booting at all and recovery via menu and USB not happen.
Returned to the Win7
P.S.
HP Probook 470 G2, i5-4210,Video Intel/AMD,Ram 8gb,OS 64bit.
By the way
HP UEFI-Bios memory and HD diagnostics showed no errors
P.S.S.
Would like try again to install Win10
Who can say what is the difference between regular hot/cold turn on
and restart?
In both cases the computer shuts down normally
But only after restart freezes
